The State Bank of India (SBI) and Indian Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) are the two largest recruiters in the banking sector. 1. IBPS Clerk

IBPS Clerk is conducted by the IBPS each year to recruit candidates for the clerical cadre across 10 banks in the country. Typically there are over 7,000 roles on offer in the IBPS clerk recruitment process. The salary of an IBPS clerk is over Rs. 22,000. There are other benefits that an IBPS Clerk is entitled to apart from the salary. It is probably one of the easier recruitment processes conducted by the IBPS in terms of the difficulty level. Any graduate can apply for the IBPS Clerk selection process.

2. SBI Clerk

The SBI Counterpart of the IBPS Clerk is the SBI Clerk recruitment process. It is also conducted to find qualified people for clerical roles at the State Bank of India branches and offices across the country. The SBI clerk might make up to Rs. 25,000 based on the city in which he/she is employed in. If you are working out of a metro city then your salary will be higher. The SBI clerk recruitment process is slightly more difficult compared to the IBPS clerk but if you are aspiring to kick start your career as a clerk in the banking sector then it is advisable to attempt both the SBI Clerk and the IBPS Clerk exams.

3. SBI PO

The role of a Probationary Officer (Bank PO) is one of the most coveted roles in the banking sector. This is clearly explained by the CTC offered. AnSBI PO makes at least 8.2 LPA and a  maximum of 13.08 LPA at the beginning of their career depending on the job location and several other factors. Year on year, 2000 - 2500 vacancies are available but around 20 lakh aspirants compete for the vacant positions making the SBI PO one of the most competitive bank exams. An undergraduate degree is the primary eligibility criteria for the SBI PO selection process.  

4. IBPS PO

Over a crore aspirants apply for various IBPS exams every year and a major chunk of the applicants apply for the IBPS PO exam. Each year around 10 to 20 reputed banks participate in the IBPS PO recruitment and between 4,000 and 5,000 PO vacancies are up for grabs. The gross salary of an IBPS PO is over INR 38,500. Some of the banks that usually participate in the recruitment process include Canara Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Bank of Baroda (BOB), Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), Corporation Bank and United Bank of India (UBI).

5. IBPS RRB

IBPS Regional Rural Bank recruitment process is held each year to fill Group A and Group B vacancies. Office Assistant (Multi-purpose), Officer Scale II and Officer Scale I are the posts that you can apply for through the IBPS RRB recruitment. Around 43 Regional Rural Banks participate in the recruitment process. Over 10,000 vacant positions across posts such as Agricultural officer, Marketing officer, Treasury officer etc are available usually. People The salary of candidates who clear the IBPS RRB recruitment for Office Assistant is around Rs. 15,000 and that for officers can range from Rs. 30,000 to Rs 47,000. Posts in Marketing

6. IBPS SO

The IBPS Specialist officer (IBPS SO) recruitment is held each year to recruit around 1,000 to 1,600 highly skilled individuals for the 6 different Scale I roles. The salary offered to candidates who clear the IBPS RRB process is around Rs. 39,000 which is very similar to that of a bank PO. This is easily the most diverse recruitment process conducted by the IBPS since people specialized in IT, law, and marketing can apply for the IBPS SO recruitment. The eligibility criteria and selection process varies based on the job role a candidate applies for.
