Answer

Multiplexer or Mux is a device that takes one of the several input signals throgh different input channels and transmits it throgh a single output channel. A digital multiplexer has 2^n input lines , n select lines and 1 outputline. The logical value at select lines determines which of the input signal will be transmitted to output.  Practically a Mux is used to transmit  multiple signals that comes from different channels at different point in time over a single channel to save cost. At receiving end demultiplexer commonly known as demux is used to send the received signal over one channel to appropriate channel based on differnt instant of time.

Answer

Multiplexer is a combinational logic circuit.

Multiplexer (MUX) is a device which selects one of many inputs to a single output.

The selection is done by using an input address.

Answer

Multiplexing (or muxing) is a way of sending multiple signals or streams of information over a communications link at the same time in the form of a single, complex signal; the receiver recovers the separate signals, a process called demultiplexing (or demuxing). The device which perfroms multiplexing is called as Multiplexer and the device which performs demultiplexing is known as Demultiplexer.

Answer

Multiplexer is a combinational digital circuit which takes more than 1 as inputs and selects any 1 of them as output. If there are n select lines, then multiplexer can have 2^n no of inputs and only 1 no of output. So a multiplexer or mux is also termed as Data Selector.

Answer
Well,Multiplexure is basically a switch. It acts as a controller.Suppose you have one supply through which you want to control or in other words activate various sources but one at a time. If you want to activate a bulb, fan, refrigerator, and a microwave oven. For them you have got switches like switch1,2 3 and 4.Switch 1 activates buld,2 activates fan,3 activates refrigerator and 4 activates microwave oven. Multiplexure is basically found as chip and wastly use d in digital electronics.
Answer

Technial definaetion you can always find online. I will try to explain it by giving you an intutive explanation.

Imagine you are the boss and on your single telephone (y) you have 8 diffrent lines connecting (since you are running big company you need so many lines). Now obviously your personal secratory will manage all the lines, i mean she will choose which line she should connect to you and which line should be kept on hold. So now imagine it this way, you are the output (single phone), secretary(A,B,C) is the selector, and 8 lines are input (look at the image in link given below).

Now this way you have 8 lines but you use only 1 phone on your end because obviously you can talk to only one person at a time. Thats the beauty of multiplexer.

Now imagine 3 people want to speak to you, scratory will select only one line and keep other on hold while let you speak to only one person, when you are done with one she will select the second person and so on.

Answer

An IC chip called a multiplexer, or a 1-of-16 data selector. It may be considered a selectable commutator; quite simply, it is similar to a single-pole, 16-position switch. The particular input (of up to 16) that is permitted to pass is determined by the binary number inserted through ports.

The demultiplexer, or 1-of-16 data distributor, is a similar but with reversed action. It accepts a digital signal through its one input and then routes it to the particular output selected by the binary value at the control ports.

Answer
Multiplexer means many into one. A multiplexer is a circuit with many inputs but only one output. It has the data select inputs that permits digital data on any one of the inputs to be switched to output line. The selection of input is done by selection lines.
Answer

A Multiplexer or simply a MUX is a type of logic element which enables multiple signals to use a shared line ( the output)  The select input S determines which of I0 or I1 gets to be connected to the output signal O The logic is simple: O = ~S.I0 + S.I1 ~ is a not gate . is and gate + is or gate This is a two input MUX which can be used to further build muxes with higher number of inputs. Muxes are very common circuit elements and many times, are more useful for deriving output for complex logic equations of the inputs. They are particularly useful for Busses (collection of signals for communication between circuit blocks) which have multiple Masters ( blocks which can initiate traffic on the bus) where the select signals can be used to grant a particular Master access to the bus. Thus, a mux can be effectively used to connect various circuit sub-blocks using the shared signals based on the value of the select signals, which are usually controlled by the state of the design. Also this circuit element is extensively used for configuration. For example, clock MUX, often have two different frequency clock at their inputs and based on the circuit configuration, a MUX can be used to either allow a higher or lower frequency clock.
