What's Your Question?
Answer

Bleeding is stopped by the coagulation of the blood, that is clot formation. This coagulation is due to colloidal solution of protein in blood.  When Potash alum is used on the bleeding part the highly cheged Al3+ and SO42- ions act as a neutralizing ions for the protein cloud in blood .This causes the blood to clot.

Answer

Blood is a colloidal sol. When we rub the injured part with moist alum then coagulation of blood takes place. Hence, main reason is coagulation, which stopsthe bleeding.

Answer

Animal skin (hide) is colloidal in nature and has positively charged particles, whereastanning consists of negatively charged colloidal particles. When a hide is soaked intanning, mutual coagulation takes place and as a result, leather gets hardened

Answer

Moist alum is a coagulating agent. When ever it is rubbed on the site of wound it causes coagulation of the blood that stops bleeding. Proteins are charged species and their aggregation or coming together depends on the neutralization (partial or complete) of the charges on the protein molecules.
