Answer

Moving coil galvanometer is an instrument used for detection and measurement of small electric currents. current carrying conductor placed in a magnetic field experiences a torque. consists of N turns of coil PQRS wound over a non-magnetic metallic frame usually rectangular or circular. The coil is suspended from a torsion head H by means of phosphor bronze strip in a magnetic pole by pieces N and S. A mirror M is attached to the phosphor bronze strip. The other end of the coil is connected to a hairspring, which in turn is connected to an external terminal. The concave or cylindrical pole pieces ensure that the plane of coil is parallel to B thus (cosq = 1 and sina = 1) in the expression t = NIBA cosq and t = NIBA sina . The whole arrangement is enclosed in non-magnetic case, which is provided with leveling screws. The torsion head is connected to terminal T1. The galvanometer can be connected to the circuit through terminals T1 and T2.

Answer
Actually it is "Moving Coil Galvanometer".The torque on a current loop in a uniform magnetic field is used to measure electrical magnetic field is used to measure electrical currents. This current measuring device is called a moving coil galvanometer. The galvanometer consists of a coil of wire often rectangular, carrying the current to be measured. There are generally many turns in the coil to increase its sensitivity. The coil is placed in a magnetic field such that the lines of B remain nearly parallel to the plane of wire as it turns. This is achieved by having a soft iron cylinder placed at the center of the coil. Magnetic field lines tend to pass through the iron cylinder, producing the field configuration. The moving coil is hung from a spring which winds up as the coil rotates; this winding up produces a restoring torque proportional to the winding up (or twisting) of the spring, i.e. to the angular deflection of the coil. The coil comes to equilibrium when this restoring torque k balances the torque due to the magnetic field balances the torque due to the magnetic field. Since by design field lines are radial, we have sin q ~ 1, so that for equilibrium k ø = INBA NBA ø = ------ I k Thus the deflection ø of the galvanometer is proportional to the electric current I passing through it.(NCERT)
Answer
galvanometer has quality that it can be converted into ammeter or voltmeter according to the requirment by connecting ressistance in series or parallel.
Answer
Principle of Galvanometer Galvanometer works on the principle of conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy. When a current carrying coil is placed in a magnetic field it experiences a magnetic torque. If it is free to rotate under a controlling torque, it rotates through an angle proportional to the current flowing through it. Working: Working When a current passes through the galvanometer coil, it experiences a magnetic deflecting torque, which tends to rotate it from its rest position. As the coil rotates it produces a twist in the suspension strip. The twist in the strip produces an electric restoring torque. The coil rotates until the elastic restoring torque due to the strip does not equal and cancels the deflecting magnetic torque, then it attains equilibrium and stops rotating any furthers.
Answer
A galvanometer depending on the principle of the moving-coil instrument . Moving coil galvanometer is a very sensitive instrument used to measure the small currents of the order 10^-9 A. Here the galvanometer gives the deflection which is proportional to the electric current flowing through it.It consists of a coil placed in a magnetic field. When a current passes through the coil, it experiences a deflection proportional to the charge through it. If a spring is used to restrain the coil, the deflection can be used to measure the current or a voltage.
Answer

magnetic coil galvanometer is actually an electromechanical device that is used to measure a small curent through the conductor as well as small voltage

Answer
Galvanometer is an electromechanical instrument which is used for the detection of electric currents     through electric circuits. Being a sensitive instrument, Galvanometer can not be used for the     measurement of heavy currents. However we can measure very small currents by using galvanometer but  the primary purpose of galvanometer is the detection of electric current not the measurement of current.
Answer

magnetic coil galvanometer is actually an electromechanical device that is used to measure small current and also small voltage.

Answer
Magnetic coil galvanometer is used to measure small current as well as small voltage in a circuit. Why small because it adds its own resistance in the circuit which is around 100ohm in general. It is constructed using magnetic poles and coil. Due to magnetic poles ,magnetic field is generated. So its working principle involves rotation of current carrying coil in a magnetic field. Hence coil get deflected and current as well as voltage can be measured based on amount of deflection

Answer
A galvanometer is a device used to detect current in a circuit. The commonly used moving coil galvanometer is named so bcoz it uses a current-carrying coil that rotates in a magnetic field due to the torque acting on it. PRINCIPLE:- The operating principal of a moving coil galvanometer is that a current-carrying coil placed in a magnetic field experiences a torque, the magnitude of which depends on the strength of current.when current(I) is passed in the coil, torque(¶) acts on coil given by ¶=NIABsin where, 0=angle b/t coil and magnetic field N=no. of turns in a coil I=current passed in coil B=strength of magnetic field A = area of the coil
Answer

A magnetic coil galvanometer works as an actuator, by producing a rotary deflection of its pointer, in response to the electric current flowing through a coil in a constant magnetic field. The ponter deflections perhaps indicate the direction of current flow. If there is no current flow or no magnetic field, there will be no pointer deflection.
