When water flows through the narrow pipes it fall drop by drop at the position of the plants. this water is absorbed by the soil in the root zone of the plants and utilized by the plants. There is no wastage of irrigation of water.

Drip irrigation is a type of irrigation in which water does not get wasted as the water drips slowly to the roots of plantseither from above the soil surface or buried below the surface.The main idea is water should not get evaporated but should reach the plant roots.

Drip irrigation is generally done in the area having very much shortage of water. In the method ,we use narrow pipes and tubes to make water fall ,drop by drop near the root ,so that there is no wastage of water in the area with such acute shortage of water.
