• ## Question: how to differentiate with respect to x in the given equation y = e ^ (ax + b) wh...

Posted in: Mathematics | Date: 20/02/2016

y=e^(ax+b)

by chain rule,we can solve this

dy/dx=(dy/dt)(dt/dx) ____(1)

take ax+b =t, then y=e^t,

dy/dt=e^t and dt/dx=a,

putting value of dy/dt and dt/dx in (1),we get

dy/dx= a*e^(ax+b).

• ## Question: Design a dam with the parabola x²=18y

Posted in: Advanced Maths | Date: 28/03/2016

Here, given equation is,x^2=18y____(1)

compare equation (1) with,parabola equation,x^2=4ay

so, 4a=18

hence, a=18/4

a=9/2

put the value of 'a' on the graph...

• ## Question: |x - 2| - 4|-6| ?

Posted in: Algebra | Date: 28/03/2016

|x-2|-4*|-6|

|-6|=6 and |x-2|=either (x-2) or -(x-2)

for |x-2|=x-2 ,(x-2)-24=x-26

for |x-2|=-(x-2),-(x-2)-24=-x-22
