Relative Speed of Train moving towards each other= 50+40= 90Km/hr= 90*5/18= 25m/sec

Let the length of train B= x meters

Total distance travelled to pass each other= (400+x) m

Total Time Required to pass each other = Distance/Speed= (400+x)/25 sec which is given as 30sec

Therefore

(400+x)/25= 30

400+x = 750

Total number of subsets with m elements = mc0+mc1+mc2+.,,.mc(r-1)+mcr+ mc(r+1)+.......mcm= 2^m

(where  mcr is combination i.e. No of ways of selecting r elements out of m elements

Similarly No of subsets with n elements= 2^n

Given

2^m-2^n= 56
