My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. Problem solving skills are best developed by fundamentals on the concerned matter. So making a child grow up with his subject or area is well managed by focusing mainly on basics.

Let a be the side of square.
then its diagonal = a x root(2) = 12
so, a = 12/root(2) = 6 x root(2)
so, area of square = a x a = 6 x root(2) x 6 x root(2) = 72 sqcm
