  • Question: Which device is used to break an electric circuit?

Posted in: Physics | Date: 20/03/2018

    Answer:

A Switch is a device which is used to break a circuit. As we know to close a circuit by interconnecting its devices and wires, we complete a circuit so that the current flows freely through the circuit, the switch is put on the ON position

And conversely, when we open a circuit,we are disconnecting the connection between the electrical devices and the wires used for the flow of current, and we thus, put the Switch in the OFF position.

  • Question: Why do we need a capacitor in a circuit?

Posted in: Physics | Date: 26/03/2018

    Answer:

A capacitor can store electric energy when it is connected to its charging circuit. And when it is disconnected from its charging circuit, it can dissipate that stored energy, so it can be used like a temporary battery.

These are commonly used in electronic devices to maintain power supply while batteries are being changed, which prevents loss of information in volatile memory.

  • Question: How do you read the value of a resistor?

Posted in: Physics | Date: 26/03/2018

    Answer:

To read the value of a resistor, care should be taken to follow a few steps......

    1. Keep the resistor with the gold or silver color band on the right. hand side. 2 .Carefully read the color sequence, that must be decoded to determine resistance. ... 3. Find out  the coded number for the resistive value. ... 4. Calculatee the tolerance of the resistor. ... 5. And lastly find out the decoded number for the resistive value

As an example if we take the following case, where we have the colours of the bands as : Band 1 = Red, Band 2 = Violet, Band 3 = Orange, Band 4 = Gold.

    2 (Red) 7 (Violet) x1,000 (Orange) = 27 x 1,000  ohms can be used:  = 27,000 =  27k ohms

    Note :    5% tolerance (gold)  1,000 ohms =1k  ,  1,000k = 1M

  • Question: Why do we need a capacitor in a circuit?

Posted in: Physics | Date: 15/05/2018

    Answer:

    Capacitors are used to

1- Store electric energy when  connected with a  battery or a charging circuit.

2- Even if the device is not plugged in or without a battery for a short time, they are used to maintain a power supply

  • Question: Why do we wear light coloured clothes in summer?

Posted in: Physics | Date: 15/05/2018

    Answer:

The dark coloured clothes store heat for a longer period of time and thus it is preferable to wear light coloured clothese during summer as the lighter clothese do not store much heat in comparison to the darker clothes.

  • Question: What is astigmatism explsin

Posted in: Physics | Date: 15/05/2018

    Answer:

Astigmatism is one of the many defects of the eye which a sighted person faces with age other than myopia or near sightedness and Hyperopia or far sightedness.

The defect of astigmatism arises either because of a change in the shape of the Cornea or the lens of the eye leading to blurring of the vision termed as Astimatism.

  • Answer:

The ray of light is dependent on the density of the material medium in which refraction takes place and as such the simple rule follows :

1- The ray of light will bend towards the normal when comming from a rarer to denser medium and

2- Will on the other hand bend away from the normal if the ray of light goes from a denser to a rarer material medium.

  • Question: What is forbidden energy gap

Posted in: Physics | Date: 18/12/2018

    Answer:

This is basically the energy needed for the electrons to travel from one band or energy level to another.

Such as between the two different energy levels which are the Conduction band\ and valence band.
