  • Question: How do gas exerts pressure on the walls of container?

    Answer:

    Gas consists of molecules which are in random motion . These gas molecules are free to move as there is very very less force of attraction among gas molecules. These randomly moving gas molecules collide with the wall of container. When molecules collide continually with wall , though they collide with each other also , they exert force on wall. A gas molecules apply a little force on some area of the wall . There is a large number of gas molecules colliding continually with wall. Total force on the wall is sum of all these small forces by molecules. And pressure is defined as force per unit area. Therefore total force by molecules divided by area is the pressure exerted by gas on wall .

  • Question: Why do we wear light coloured clothes in summer?

    Answer:

    We prefer to wear light coloured clothes in summer as light colours reflect light and heat and as a result of which light coloured clothes absorb less heat and become less hot giving us relief in summers. On the other hand dark colours absorb more light and heat and they become hotter and give us restlessness/ donot help us keeping cool in summer. Thats why we should wear light coloured clothes in summer and dark coloured clothes in winter.

  • Answer:

    We will use Pythagoras theorem to find both distance and displacement. A right angled triangle is formed with base AB=15m and height 20 m. By Pythagoras theorem, 15^2 +20^2 = 225+400=625 Now Hypotenuse is square root of 625 i.e. 25 Now 25 m is the displcement . And distance is 15+20=35m
