    There are two ways for this conceptual way and for exams shortcut way.

    While calculationo of new ratio, Conceptual  way is u think in this way. A person who has left the partnership firm or who has died, ratio of that person is vacant that means x is 1/2 i.e. 50% Y is 1/3 i.e. 33.33% and Z is 1/6 = 16.67%. in this 16.67% ratio is vacant which should be distributed amongs the other left partners in their ratios 

    There for 16.67% is divided in X and Y in ratio of 1/2 and 1/3 . i.e. 50% and 33.33%

    X = 50 x 16.67/( 50+33.33) = 10% and 

    Y = 33.33 x 16.67 / (50+33.33) = 6.67 

    there for question asked is what is the new ratio of X ad Y

    X = 50 (old) + 10 (new) Z's share = 60

    Y = 33.33 (old) + 6.67 (new) Z's share = 40

    X and Y in ratio of 60 : 40 i.e. 3 : 2



    **For Exam Short cut way

    Jo mar gaya usko agni sanskar karke bhul jao

    jo jinda hai uska share uske samne likho

    X = 1/2

    Y = 1/3 

    X/Y = ½ /  ⅓

    X/Y = 3/2

    And hence X = 3 and Y = 2

    so new ratio is 3:2

  • Answer:

    Leasehold property or freehold property should be under Non-current assets Tangible Assets and depreciation should not be done on any type of land. Because Depreciation should be done only on those which has limited Life and after some period of time it becomes scrap and we have to purchase new asset. So in case of Building Depreciation should be charged but not in case of Land. Becuase Land has unlimited life.
