Average income= Sum of incomes/total no. of incomes={4500+3550+4260+4880}/4=17190/4= 4297.50

Total income = 4500 + 3550+4260+4880 = 17190

Total months = 4

Average income = Total/no. = 17190/4 = Rs. 4297.5

Let the average income be Rs x.Then the algebraic sum of the differences between the average and the individual omonthly incomes  should be zero

That is (x-4500)+(x-3550)+ (x-4260)+(x-4880) =  0

That is 4x-( 4500+4200+4260+4880) =0

That is 4x- 17190 =0 or x=  17190/4 =    4297.50

Average = total sum of all items / number of items

Total sum   of Income ( items)= 4500 +3550+4260+ 4880 = Rs.17190

Total number of Items = 4 ( months)

Average = 17190 /4 = Rs. 4297.50

Average income= 4500+3550+4260+4880=17190 So17190/4=4297.50

Ans. The average income for the period is Rs. 4297.50

Explanation: Total income in 4 months = Rs. (4500+3550+4260+4880) = Rs. 17190 So, Rs. 17190/4 = Rs. 4297.50
