Question: A gun moves backward when a shot is fired from it choose the correct statement

1. F12=-F21

This Result is based on NEWTON THIRD LAW OF MOTION.

"EVERY FORCE OF ACTION SHOULD BE IN EQUAL AND OPPOSITE REACTION".

That is the reason for gun is moving backward, while bullet follows forward reaction.

A gun moves backward when a shot is fired because according to third law of motion "Every action has an opposite and an equal reaction"so when shot is fired we are acting and in return we will get reaction.

Also, The gun will have recoil velocity with negative sign which indicates that the gun moved in opposite direction of shot.

"Every action has an equal and opposite reaction". This second law of newton says that there is an equal reaction for every action.

When a gun is fired there is an action in one direction which in turn will generate an action in opposite direction, thus the gun moves in the backward direction.
