Here in this question one root is negative of other root. hence the sum of the roots is zero. the sum of the roots is -b/a.

-b/a =0.

substitute b and a values in the above equation, find k.

Let 'a'&'b' are two zero of the polynomial 2x^2-6kx+6x-7. As one zero is negative to other ,so, b=-a(say). We know that ,a+b=-(coefficient of X)/(coefficient of x^2) =>a+b=-(-6k+6)/2 =>a+(-a)=(6k-6)/2(as b=-a) =>0=3k-3 =>K-1=0 =>K=1
