Question: What is electro_static potential

Posted by: Ali a. on 23.11.2020

Electrostatic potential or simply Electric potential is the amount of work done to move a unit charge from a reference point to a specific point against an electric field. Its SI unit is volt (V) .

Electrostaatic potential is defined as the amount of work done in bringing a unit positive charge from infinity to a point against the electrostatic force of repulsion without any acceleration.

mathematically ,  Electrostatic potential (V) = Work done (W)/charge (q)

it is a scalar quantity and SI unit is Joule(J)/Coloumb(C)  or volt (V)

Electrostatic potential is defined as the amount of work done in bringing a unit charge from infinity to a certain point. V=W/qo It is a scalar quantity. SI unit J/C or volt.
