Multiple hormones are secreted from the gastric mucosa (gastric glands) including:

  • Gastrin: from G cells
  • Cholecystokinin and Somatostatin from the APUD cells
  • Other hormones which are secreted by gastric mucosa but also screted from other parts of the gut:
    • Ghrelin: the so called hunger hormone
    • Leptin

Please Note: Secretin is a hormone secreted from the S cells of the small intestine and it regulates the secretion of gastrin, pepsin and gastric acid.

Three different hormones are secreted from the gastric gland which belong to different family. They are Gastrin, Secretin and Somatostatin.
