It strats with 2 as

2 is divisible by 2 and 1 only so 2 is a prime number

3 is divisible by 3 and 1 only so 3 is a prime number

4 is divisible by 4,2 and 1 only so 4 is not a prime number

5 is divisible by 5 and 1 only so 5 is a prime number

6 is divisible by 3,2 and 1 only so 6 is not a prime number

7 is divisible by 7 and 1 only so 7 is a prime number

similarly

8 is not a prine

9 is not a prime

10 is not a prime

11 is a prime

12 is not a prime

13 is a prime 

and so on .............

therefore prime numbers are 2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19,23,27,29,31 ........... so on.

A prime number is a number greater than 1 which is only divisible by either 1 or by itself. In other words, it has factors as 1 and the number itself and no other factorization is possible. Some prime numbers are : 2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19,23,29,31,101,251,619,997, ETC. Here if we take number 11, then 11 is divisible by either 1 or by 11 itself. It cannot be divided by any other number i.e why it becomes a prime number.

Also, 2 is the only EVEN PRIME NUMBER and the rest are ODD.
