The difference between lytic and lysogenic cycles are:

Lytic cycles

A lytic cycle is more instant in that it results in many duplicates of the virus that is being created very quickly and the cell is destroyed. 

Lysogenic cycles

In lysogenic cycles, the spread of the viral DNA happens through the usual prokaryotic reproduction.
