Abhram Maslow's theory:

Abraham Maslow's theory is a humanistic theory. he stated that people are motivated to acheive certain needs. when one need is fulfilled, the other need is seeked by the person and so on. so the needs are heirarchial and can be represented in the form of a triangle. this is a five stage model, which is divided into basic(deficiency) needs and growth needs. the base of triangle has physiological needs, then comes safety needs, 3rd is social  or love and belonging needs, then esteem needs and lastly self-actualisation needs. one must satisfy the lower needs before satisfying the growth and higher needs.

Maslow noted only one in hundred people, become fully self-actualised, as our society rewards motivation primarily based on esteem, social and basic needs.
