First of all vb.net is easy to learn. You can learn any of the .net languages actually. If you know VB6 you can learn vb.net easily, if you know c/c++ you can learn C#.net easily, if you know java you can learn J#.net easily. learning curve is less. very important point is that to work with any further technologies/frameworks/products of Microsoft (like asp.net/.net framework, MVC/ Sharepoint etc), understading of one of the lang. is must. ***I suggest better to go for c#.net because most of the companies are using c#.net.
