  14. Learning Various types of scaffolds Supported, tube & coupler type Scaffolds with height to base ratio of more than 4:1 shall be restrained from tipping by guying, bracing, tying or the equivalent Scaffolds & scaffold components must support at least 4 times the maximum intended load Top rail & mid rails are reqd, else provide personal fall protection system.

Learning The platform must not deflect more than 1/60 of the span when loaded The standard prohibits the use of cross braces as a means of access Access must be provided when the scaffold platforms are more than 0.6m (2 feet) above or below a point of access To protect employees from falling hand tools, debris & other small objects, install guardrails systems, debris nets or barricades. Employees must wear helmet.
  16. Do's & Don'ts Each person who could fall more than 2 meters shall be protected from falling by a fall protection system like guardrails, personal fall arrest systems. Fixed fall protection, such as guardrails are preferred over the use of personal fall arrest systems.
  17. Do's & Don'ts Top height of handrails shall not be less than 900mm & not more than 1200mm above the walking / working surface of a platform. Cantilever can be maximum 1 meter allowed.

A green scafftag is valid for a maximum of two weeks.
