STEP 1 TELESCOPE ADJUSTMENT 1- TURN THE TELESCOPE TOWARDS A DISTANT OBJECT AND MOVE THE RACK AND PINION SCREW UNTIL YOU GET THE CLEAR IMAGE OF THE OBJECT. 2- PLACE THE SPECTROMETER IN FRONT OF SODIUM LAMP. ADJUST THE SLIT AS NARROW AS POSSIBLE USING THE SCREW. 3- NOW FOCUS THE TELESCOPE ON THE SLIT AND VERTICAL CROSS WIRE IS COINCIDE WITH THE SLIT. LOCK THE TELESCOPE . 4- NOW ADJUST THE VERNIER SCALE TO 0-0 AND 0-180 AFTER THIS SETUP WE PUT THE PRISM ON THE PRISM 5- TABLE SO THAT THE ROUGH SURFACE OF THE PRISM ON THE SIDE OF TELESCOPE.
