  2. ABSTRACT The goal of the project is to explore how to realize a mobile city guide using the Android platform, including a prototype of the city guide. The prolect uses the research method Design Science. Through designing and imp ementinq an artifact (i.e. prototype of city guide), the goal the project is reached. Finally, the project is evaluated in four aspects including platform evaluation, general functional evaluation, scenario evaluation, and non-functional evaluation. The prototype implemented includes basic functionalities of city guide such as showing a map, locating points of interest (POIs). Moreover, the project has explored how to integrate current technologies like Google Calendar, Google Map, Browser, Contact application and Phone application into the prototype. The app comforts a new native in a city by showing information of all the nearby sites that can be used for public access. Sites includes Airports, ATMs, Bus stands, Railway stations, Hospitals etc. As well, the project has investigated non-functional aspects including extendibility, tailor ability, and usability.   3. OBJECTIVE To provide a user friendly interface which will link the user with their nearby places. To have information about all the general places like ATMs, banks, bus stops etc. with their respective locations. To link the user with their Facebook and twitter profile. To provide user with a number of choices f r places of each categories.

  5. PROJECT FUNCTIONALITIES The application gives a choice to the users to access their needed place without any physical movement. The user can have a look over these choices and can access information like phone number, address, email and image of the particular place.
  6. The application is most beneficial for new visitors in city. The application database is directly connected to the google maps services. The application also shows current longitude and latitude of the user. The application extends the use of Global Positioning System and adds-on to its functionality.

  13. APPLICATIONS The app is a further application to GPS system. It can give the current location of a user in terms of latitude and longitude. It can also be linked with social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. The user is provided with Data related to the required Search group.   14. FUTURE SCOPE The covering access range can be increased Rating system can also be imbedded according to the user's satisfaction. Apart from android it can also be made for Windows and IOS users. Navigation system can also e integrate for a particular place.

CONCLUSION * In this paper, we presented the design and implementation of a mobile application called Smart Travel City Guide, with which mobile users can get tourism guidance information they need anytime and anywhere. * By Smart Travel City Guide, users can get an attraction's detailed information, including text/ picture and video. In particular, Smart Travel Guide can provide users with location-based information, which can be browsed or queried through a map. User can search the nearby attractions after he or she configures the distance between the current location and the view spots. * When the user moves out of the current location, the mobile phone will automatically send its new position to the server side, and the corresponding attraction list will b eived by the user.
