  1. AREAS OF PARALLELOGRAM & TRIANGLES Class : IX KEY POINTS : PARALLELOGRAMS Sub •ect : Maths Board : CBSE Theorem 1 : A diagonal of a parallelogram divides it into two triangles of equal area. Theorem 2 : Parallelograms on the same base and between the same parallels are equal in area. Theorem 3 : The area of a parallelogram is the product of its base and the corresponding altitude. Theorem 4 : The area of a triangle is half the product of any of its sides and the corresponding altitude. Theorem 5 : If a triangle and a parallelogram are on the same base and between the same parallels, the area of the triangle is equal to half of the parallelogram. Theorem 6 : The area of a trapezium is half the product of its height and the sum of parallel sides. TRIANGLES ON THE SAME BASE AND BETWEEN THE SAME PARALLELS Theorem 1 : Triangles on the same base and between the same parallels are equal in area. Theorem 2 : Triangles having equal areas and having one side of one of the triangles, equal to one side of the other, have their corresponding altitudes equal. Theorem 3 : Two triangles having the same base ( OR equal base ) and equal areas lie between the same parallels. Theorem 4 : If each diagonals of a quadrilateral separates it into two triangles of equal area, then the quadrilateral is a parallelogram. Theorem 5 : The area of a ROHOMBUS is half the product of the lengths of its diagonals.
  2. Theorem 6 : Diagonals of a parallelogram divide it into FOUR triangles of equal area. Theorem 7 : A median of a triangle divides it into two triangles of equal area.
