  1. NUMBER SYSTEM 1.Natural numbers are all positive integers. whole numbers include zero also 2.Prime numbers are not divisible by any other number expect 1. 3. Divisibility Test. the last digit is an even number or zero. By 2- - the sum of digits is divisible by 3. By 3 - the last two digits digits by 4 or ends with 00. By 4 the last digit is 5 or 0. By 5- - divisible by both 2 or 3. - the last three digits divisible by 8 or ends with 000. By 8 - the sum of digits is divisible by 9 By 9 By 10- the last digit is 0. By 11- the difference = sum of digits of (odd places- Even places) is zero or multiple of 11. 4. If any number is divided, then dividend= (divisor x quotient) +remainder= given number N. 5. To find a number exactly divisible by a divisor d we use, Method-I: Substract the remainder from the given number. Method-2 :Add ( divisor-remainder) to the given number. +n = n(n+1)/2 6. 1+2+3+ +(2n-1) = n2. 7. 1+3+5+ 8. 12+22+32+ 2 +2n = n(n+l) 10. 1+2+3+ 9. 2+4+6+ +n =(n(n+1)/2)2. NUMBERS AND THEIR CLASSIFICATION A number p may be, i) a natural number (N)-all counting numbers(1 2 3 ii) a whole number(w) — all counting numbers including 0(0,1,2,3 iii) an integer(Z)- all counting numbers,O,and negative of counting numbers(-3,-2,-1 0 1 2 3 iv)a rational number (Q) — all numbers which can be expressed as p/q form (1/2,/3/5,3,-15) v) a rational number (R)- all numbers on the number line (1/2,0,q,-1,-3/2) vi) an irrational number —the number which can not be expressed in p/q form.
