  1. Common kitchen products and plants with treasure of medicinal values 1. BLACK PEPPER Increases nutrient absorption: The piperine in the black pepper enhances the bioavailability of various nutrients such as V it. A and C, selenium, beta- carotene and others, thereby improving the overall health of individual. Bioavailability refers to the amount of a nutrient or supplement which is absorbed by the body. Improves digestion: It stimulates the taste buds and increases the secretion of HCI in the stomach which aids in proper digestion. It acts as an appetite stimulant. It facilitates weight loss: The outer layer of peppercorns contains phytonutrients that encourage the breakdown of fat cells.
