I am a Doctor by profession, intrested in teaching, believes that knowledge is what I can share. I don't have any such professional teaching experience but if given a chance, I would be able to bring out the best from my students as I believe that if the concept and basic is cleared then learning any topic will be much more easier and fun for students.

Tutoring Approach

I approach tutoring in such a way that I show the students the basics, and then give them a variety of practice exercises and urge them figure out the answers themselves. If in doubt, I would keep prompting them to find the right answers thereby helping them to grasp the right concepts.

I am a professional Science educator seeking to move into a long term position in a High School, preferable teaching in the IB or similar international board and am submitting my application for the post of Biology teacher. I hold a Master degree in Biotechnology from the University of Mumbai and I have taught science at both High School (grade 9 and 10) and university level (undergraduate and post graduate). As a teacher I have successfully managed to my classes and prepared students for exams and future studies in Science, in this capacity I have developed individual and differentiated plans as well as mentored students for university dissertation work. I would bring my experience and success in the classroom to your school by incorporating values necessary to make each students self-dependent in the process of acquiring knowledge. As a university level Science teacher I have a firm and focused understanding of my subject and have designed courses set to a syllabus, in this regard my experience would be of great benefit to a school offering IBDP and HSC Biology. This program requires the learner to function with practical application as well as understanding of Science and my experience. Every IB/ HSC student is expected to carry out a multidisciplinary investigative project as a part of their study because of my Master’s degree is in a multidisciplinary field and my previous mentoring experience will help students to design work on strategic application based projects which will give them opportunities to learn through practical experience. These projects can also be designed keeping in mind some overwhelming global environmental concern which may involve use of biological, chemical and physical techniques along with making a simulation models, etc. I have got good knowledge of reference books that can be recommended to students. I use activity based, active referencing method, quizzing and use of power point, OHP presentation, etc. I seek an opportunity to bring some of these and other ideas to the IB Biology framework by being a part of the teaching group of your school. I can collaborate effectively with other faculties to work for the advancement of students.
