I approach tutoring in such a way that I show the students the basics, and then give them a variety of practice exercises and urge them figure out the answers themselves. If in doubt, I would keep prompting them to find the right answers thereby helping them to grasp the right concepts.

If your ward is not getting due attention in a class of masses, you may connect. I believe if due attention is given to an average/weak student even they shine better, and that is the sole purpose of a private tutor. Most of my students say I pick them up from their existing level of understanding of the subject.  With a little experience of 12 years with my average students, when I find them at reputed institutes I feel satisfied being a part of their journey.  I believe there shall be many in welcoming journey of life ahead.
