It depends upon the type of course but regular tests will be conducted for sure. For GRE and Toefl students, vocab tests are held every day before starting further sessions. For Engineering students tests depend on their demand, generally they don't like giving tests. Therefore, my best technique is make them understand the concept and abrest give them numericals for practice.
