My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions. my philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think . i am a qualified b.sc (cs) honors, mca, m.tech (cs) and right now a research scholar. i used to organized different workshops on android and mobile computing to different engineering colleges. i have a teaching experience of 7 years.

My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I dont give lecture to students or ask them to memorise things. Nor do I do the students homework for them! I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student's understanding and technique. I also give a lot of emphasis to some of the less obvious but vital skills such as writing codes and technique, logical thought and the effective use of numbers and graphs and also practical implementation. I believe passionately in the huge value of tutoring to students and take great satisfaction in seeing my students achieve their full potential.

Use index cards, bullets, or single sheets of paper to present each piece of information. Give examples This is a popular technique. A lot of information is new or abstract and our minds often need association to absorb it. Write directions for assignments For most of us recall is only good for a short amount of time. If you want student to practice a study skill, remember an assignment, or rehearse vocabulary, write it down. This is also true for presenting information in small manageable steps. Relate material to student's everyday life This is a highly effective tutoring technique. Remember the Chinese saying, "Tell me, I forget. Show me, I remember. Involve me, I understand." How true that is! If you can relate your course material to something that your student has experienced before, this will help the student remember it better. Elicit brain storming - ask "Why?" recall information; make corrections; understand how they got the answer. Asking "why" helps students explain how they reached a particular answer. Ask students to paraphrase information Paraphrasing is a powerful tool that helps students assimilate and rethink information. It turns them into active learners and it helps the tutor check to see if the student genuinely understands the material. Teach students SQ3R Survey, question, read, review, recite.
