I approach tutoring in such a way that I show the students the basics, and then give them a variety of practice exercises and urge them figure out the answers themselves. If in doubt, I would keep prompting them to find the right answers thereby helping them to grasp the right concepts.

I am a graduate from the ma program at the university of chicago. i have also done my b.e. in computer science from bits pilani. while this is the first time i will be teaching someone in formal capacity but i have taught many younger students (my brother, friends of my brother) for free and informal capacities. for example, i have taught many of my engineering friends on the day before the exam. and yes, they did brilliantly! (not that i encourage people to study one day before the exam :p)
