What is New in JEE Main 2017? The weightage of 12th marks will not be considered for calculating JEE Main Rank from 2017. There is no minimum criteria for 12th percentage for appearing in JEE Main 2017 exam. For the candidates to qualify for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE(Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination. All the Indian citizen candidates should possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI. At the time of filling application form of JEE (Main)–2017, the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender which will be validated with the UIDAI’s data.  In case, these particulars do not match, the candidates will not be able to fill the application form for JEE (Main)–2017. Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school records. If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records, as the case may be. JEE Main 2017 Exam Dates The Exam date of offline & online paper and result date for JEE Main 2017 have been released. Check dates here: Events Dates Official notification release 18th November 2016 Application form release 1st December 2016 to 2nd January, 2017 Application form correction window one week in the second half of January, 2017 Release of Admit Card first week of March, 2017 JEE Main offline exam (Pen and Paper Based exam) 2nd April 2017 JEE Main online exam (Computer Based exam) 8th & 9th April, 2017 Result declaration 27th April 2017 Counselling schedule first week of July, 2017 The notification for JEE Main 2017 registration has been released on 18th Nov, 2016. JEE Main 2017 Eligibility Criteria Candidates are suggested to check the JEE Main 2017 eligibility criteria before applying: Age Limit: Candidate’s date of birth should fall on or after 01 October, 1992 for general candidates and 01, October 1987 for SC, ST and PwD candidates. Candidates appearing/passed 12th or equivalent exam in 2015 or 2016 with PCM are eligible to apply. Candidates who have passed 12th or equivalent exam in 2014 are not eligible to apply. Number of Subjects in 12th: Aspirants should have minimum five subjects in 12th/qualifying examination. Number of Attempts: Candidate can attempt JEE Main exam three times only. Diploma (3 years) holders are also eligible to apply. JEE Main 2017 Application Form Candidates are required to fill the JEE Main Application Form 2017 only through online process. The application form will be available from 1st December 2016. No other modes will be entertained to fill and submit the application form. The last date to fill the application form will be 2nd January, 2017. Candidate can submit only one application form. More than one application form filling will lead to rejection. There is no need to send the printed application form to the CBSE Board. Application Fee: The application fee payment can be made through two modes online mode (debit/credit card) or offline mode (e-challan of Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC Bank). Correction period will be announced for one week in the second half of January, 2017(Tentatively). Any further corrections in application form after closing the correction period will not be entertained. Only selected and permitted entries may be modified. JEE Main 2017 Exam Pattern The JEE Main 2017 exam pattern for paper I and Paper II is given below: JEE Main Paper I: Courses: It is held for engineering courses (B.Tech/BE). Number of Questions: It is consisted of 90 MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions). Subjects: The paper will be asked from subjects as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Language: Hindi, English (candidates can select while filling the application form) Mode: It will be commenced via both; online & offline. Duration: 3 hours.  (4 hours for the candidates having 40% or more disability) Marking Scheme: 4 marks for each correct response. Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response or multi-responses. Subjects Questions Marks Chemistry 30 120 Physics 30 120 Mathematics 30 120 Total 90 360 JEE Main Paper II: Courses: It is held for Architecture course. (B.Arch). Number of Questions: It is consisted of 82 questions (MCQs) out of which 30 questions from mathematics, 50 questions from aptitude test and 2 questions (descriptive) of drawing test. Subjects: The paper will be asked from subjects as Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing. Language: Hindi, English (candidates can select while filling the application form) Mode: It will be commenced via offline mode. Duration: 3 hours. (4 hours for the candidates having 40% or more disability) Marking Scheme: 4 marks for each correct response (2 questions of drawing will carry 70 marks). Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect or multi-responses. Subjects Questions Marks Mathematics.
