I approach tutoring in such a way that I show the students the basics, and then give them a variety of practice exercises and urge them figure out the answers themselves. If in doubt, I would keep prompting them to find the right answers thereby helping them to grasp the right concepts.

I teach this by taking examples from our day to day activities like driving, swimming, running, space, etc. Once he/she understands the concept then it just practice.. I don't believe in rushing through the problem, if one really understands it, one can solve it easily.. My teacher advised me to not worry about competition rather understand the concepts so well that I develop the courage to face any unseen question that may come in exam. Parting words : Honesty with yourself is very important. Do only one book(e.g. HC VERMA) but do it really well without EVER looking at solutions and you'll sail through exam.
