Visual and Optical Testing Programme Visual inspection is the most basic NDT methods where inspectors learn about welding and other material working processes. The below are some of the areas of the programme:

The eye: breaks down the components of the eye and how they relate to seeing

Inspection apparatus for limited internal inspections such as borescopes and flexscopes

Welding introduction, processes and welding symbols

Dimensional inspections and tools used in dimensional inspection

Mechanical devices such as pumps, valves and related components

Codes, documentation and reporting

Hands on practical use of equipment and test samples
