NEET 2019: AFMC MBBS 2019: Admission Requirements

AFMC Pune admissions to the undergraduate MBBS courses for 2019 would be done on the basis of the candidates performance in NEET 201 which would be conducted on May 5, 2019. The examination would be conducted by National Testing Agency, NTA in pen and paper mode.

Candidates are mandated to qualify NEET 2019 and other specific eligibility requirements include:

  • Age limit – Appearing candidates should be no less than 17 years and no more than 24 years of age calculated as on December 31, 2019.
  • Marital Status: Married candidates are not eligible for AFMC nor are the selected candidates allowed to get married during the course.
  • Educational qualification remains similar to NEET 2019 with the proviso that the candidates have scored minimum 60 per cent marks in the qualifying examinations.
  • Indian citizens are eligible to apply for AFMC. Other candidates can only apply once they have acquired the citizenship.
  • Candidates from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir are also eligible for admission to AFMC, Pune.

Admission Process:

Candidates who are shortlisted for AFMC would be called for a second round of screening. This would include Test of English Language(ToELR), Comprehension, Logic and Reasoning, Psychological Assessment Test (PAT), Interview and Medical Examination. These subsequent round would be held in June / July at AFMC, Pune.

A total of 150 seats are expected to be available with AFMC, Pune this year as well. Of these, 117 would be boys and 28 girls. 5 seats are Government sponsored candidates from Friendly Foreign Countries. Based on the performance in NEET 2019, a list of about 1750 candidates would be prepared who would then be called for ToELR and subsequently for other rounds.

How to apply:

Students interested to please note that the first step is to qualify NEET 2019. In case you are interested for AFMC Pune, you would be required to register and apply for AFMC, Pune on DGHS website (mcc.nic.in) ahead of the counselling. The window to register would be opened after the declaration of NEET 2019 results by NTA. Students need not register separately for AFMC websites.
