Beginning with exchanging our expectations (Tutor-Child), I would make a time chart giving the child the idea of my approach well in advance. I'll not overburden him/her with workload but would require him/her to give atleast 15-20 to revise what was taught earlier and to have a glimpse of what was supposed to be read before each lesson. After every satisfactory course completion, I'l' take tests (which may be surprise, just to check if we are on the same page) and there will be times when lectures are taken just to clear the doubts of the student. Approach would be such so as to make the child love what he took as a burden hitherto.
